I actually borrowed this gag from another comic strip I did a long time ago for another comic. In it, two weird alien creatures were trying to escape a prison. The smarter one had assembled a huge, scary catapult to launch them over the prison wall. He told the dumber one that he could go first. I guess it goes along with that whole letting a little brother or sister test something first to see how dangerous it is. Poor little guys.
