Boomerang is not just a classic cartoon network owned by Cartoon Network. In fact many people associate it with this strange little tool / weapon from the Aborigines. Actually they have been found among the ruins of ancient people all over the world but I think we can give Australia the credit for the crazy name.
There is a World Cup held for boomerang throwing every other year as well as world records held for boomerang throwing that include such categories as accuracy, catching, endurance and distance.
Two incredibly important boomerangs in history that come to mind are:
- Link’s boomerang from the original Legend of Zelda on the original Nintendo Game System. There has never been a better secondary weapon in a video game. That thing was awseome.
- Batman’s “Batarang”, without the boomerang it just would have just been the Bat Grapple or something… and that wouldn’t have been very cool.

I remember I made a boomerang in school long time ago. I rarely managed to come back to me, usually it just curved in air and then blasted deep in ground. If it came back, I had to go down or run away. Seriously, if that thing would’ve hit me in the head, or even if I got in my hand, which I probably couldn’t do even when tried, it would HURT. A lot. Just seeing how deep it can go into ground, that’s easily the size of my head. 😕
And also nice to know that you’re played the original Zelda, my favorite 2D-Zelda. It just never get boring.
I was never able to get a boomerang to work. When ever I tried to use it, it would not come back or land on the roof. 🙁
I wouldn’t worry if I were Wally because, by the way things go, Osborne would be the one getting smacked by boomerang. He always is the one getting the low end of the stick.
i got the boomerang in Zelda! The dance thing was RLY hard, i had to keep saving after each move, but it was worth it! i’ve never used a boomerang in real life though. i like wally’s look in the 3rd panel…how do you do that ❓
oh, and they got the boomerang from this magic box of stuff where they got the tobaggan, helium, and paddleball from. 😀
oh, have you ever played “Adventure Quest”? One of they temporary items was a Bananarang,its element was Water.
I remember when i I was very young, one of the girls in my class brought a boomerang in for “show and tell”. We begged the teacher to try it out, but she said it would only work in Australia. 😯
Osborne would probably end up getting whacked by the boomerang. He’s just trying to stop Wally using it so he doesn’t get hurt 😐

I have a boomerang that works pretty well for me but my older can never do it even though he’s better than me at every thing except boomerang throwing. I guess it only works for people it feels sorry for. My kitten is messing around with the computer desk trying get to my plate of blackberries. He looks just like wally. All white and his name, coincedentially, is Polar Bear

While most boomerangs now are the returning kind, there are certain ones that are designed to throw straight, essentially being long, sharpened, spinning blades of doom! I watched a thing where they showed some of them that were large enough to cripple kangaroos by hitting them in the legs.
That’s a classic gag. Throwing the boomerang and having it come back and hit you.
