Back in the early 1900’s people started carrying their lunches to work in old tobacco tins. This gave way to the invention of the old metal lunchboxes which would go on to be a standard for school kids complete with their favorite characters lithographed onto them. Better the kids carrying lunch than tobacco. But the great thing about them, is you can keep all sorts of cool stuff in them, I’m sure Wally will keep his around, and hopefully find something else to keep in it besides Osborne.
There is a purpose to today’s comic. Today an all new all-ages webcomic collective called Lunchbox Funnies launched and Wally & Osborne are a part of it! You can read the full scoop here at Newsarama.
Fellow Lunchbox Funnies member Ryan Sias did a “lunchbox” comic at his Silent Kimbly today, so I just had to do one too.

ahhh poor Osbourne Wallt is just so mean, but the lunch box does look kind of sweet what with all the feathers (are they feathers or do penguins have another skin covering?) sticking out, and Wally looks so innocent and adorable sorry for being mushy.

I don’t recall metal lunch boxes being around in Australia when I was a kid at school, but the Tupperware ones I used to use did come in handy when I finally left.
Oh, and a sandwich left in one over summer holidays never ended up as fresh as the Tupperware propaganda would have led you to believe.

I do think it would be somewhat entertaining to see kids with Wally and Osborne lunch boxes, I’m not sure how well they would sell but it’d be kind of nifty.
i made a video, it was hard to make it look decent, tyler obvoiosly has a lot more experience then i do.

Penguins have feathers. I guess they’re quite slick and oily because of their waterproofing.
