: Quest For the Beak: Part VI
May 29, 2007

Yet another installment of the beak saga. We reach the climactic battle scene. I originally envisioned drawing the battle out over two pages and just having it be ridiculous. But in order to keep the pacing, one good penguin belly bop by Superwally does the trick. I mean, it was just a bird, an old decrepit bird.

The original art for this page is available for purchase here.

Just a couple more installments in this series and we’ll be back to regular updates. I’ve been having some fun writing a bunch of new comics.

Yes! Zabuza and Haku! Gender confused Japenese people with their yaoi ๐Ÿ˜‰ I can just imagine Wally as Naurto (if your even talking about Naruto…) Osborn might be Saskue… Or Pakune, or Shikamaru…
๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ˜ˆ which is evil, which is twisted? You’ll never KKKNNNOOOWWW!!!! ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. shikra says:

Yeah, Wally is throwing up snowballs and hitting the skuas with them on acident. it’s one of my favorites! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. steve-o says:

Friendly I am SERIOUSLY into Gaurdians Of Ga’hoole but I can’t buy all that many cuz I have to buy them with my own money and I only have 35 dollars left and my dad hasn’t paid me since november ’06! But so far my favorite book is definitley the shattering Metal Beak and the Pure Ones have control of St. Aggies?!?! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜ก ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  4. What the heck are guardians of ga hoole? โ“ โ“ โ“

im cracking up right now, it’s taken me like two minutes to type this message  ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† tyler, um.. this may sound weird, and no offence to anybody else, and you dont have to answer, but are you a christian?

  9. steve-o says:

Hey Friendly I would say Nyra is unbelievably awesome and so is Mrs. Plithiver but still, there’s something about digger that makes him awesome but in a different way… It’s just sorta hard to explain ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ˜•

  10. Friendly Penguin says:

Yes, digger’s awesomeness is truly strange… must be because he’s a deep thinker. I searched guardians of ga’hoole and it said the Pure Ones were like… well, it’s hard to explain. Then it said something about a dragon owl. What the heck is a dragon owl?

Clubpenguindude, Guardians of Ga’Hoole is a book series, a really awesome one. It’s about owls.

Oh I almost forgot…. Did anybody EVER read Eragon? I have, and now I’m reading Eldest for the second time… It’s really good, Saphira is awesome. Until she leaves to somewhere. Then it gets incredibly boring…

But seriously doesn’t it look like Wally is about to cut the cheese on the petrel king? And I didn’t know petrels could tango… but i still like the comic…

Who loves reading? Books? Huge books? Comic books? Comic books based on novels? Smallish novels? That are really cool? Seriously? And also GIGANTIC books? Gigantic books that are awesome? Me? Yes.

  11. Friendly Penguin says:

did anybody seriously think about how Wally will get down? Or what he’ll do at the bottom? He might forget about Osborne and just play with it or lose it or something…

  12. Huvo says:

“Oh I almost forgotรขโ‚ฌยฆ. Did anybody EVER read Eragon? I have, and now Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm reading Eldest for the second timeรขโ‚ฌยฆ Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs really good, Saphira is awesome. Until she leaves to somewhere. Then it gets incredibly boringรขโ‚ฌยฆ”

DO NOT pay any money to watch the movie, if you absolutely have to see the movie. I saw the Eragon movie on a plane, and it had too many clichรƒยฉs and no character development.

  13. steve-o says:

Oh Man Friendly you’re level of reading is NOTHING compared to mine.not trying to brag or anything through the rest of this comment. I was reading books with over 100 pages by age 5. now I don’t sleep well unless I’ve read over 100 pages in the day. I read classics. Mark Twain, Robert Louis Stevenson, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, you name it. I actually annoy my parents because I spend so much time cooped up in my room reading. I am INSANE for reading. I am especially not trying to brag on this one. I am smarter than most adults I know when It comes to Science. Oh man J.R.R. Tolkien and jules verne are my my heroes in the world of written words. Jules Verne had his characters using electricity WAY before ben franklin. *NO exaggeration has been used in this comment

  14. OrAnGe JuIcE says:

Friendly Penguin: I LOVE THAT STUFF!!! I read Eragon about 3 times and Eldest once. The biggest problem I had with Eldest is that it is รƒยผber predictable. I”m 3 yearsbehind the author’s age, plus I’m writing a novel. So hou could guess that he would reveal that those 2 were related…and … yeah. The movie sucked! I almost got thrown out of the theatre cuz I was dangerously close to yelling at the screen. XD I got the game for no particular reason and I didn’t like that either. Let my sister borrow it, and she lost it 2 seconds later. DS games are so freaking small. And yes, I Love meh DS!! But yeah. Fat Books are awesome. Read wheel of time yet? There’s alot of books so far in the series and it’s actually pretty good. And the Girls rule the world! Muahahaha. And manga. I love Manga. Sorry for ranting a bit. I’m super hyper cuz I drank Vault. Again.
Steve-o: Age 5: Ditto. and I was reading classics too. I’m not asleep because I haven’t read anything. At all… and vault, can’t forget Vault. Tolkien is a freaking GOD… and this would probably be better in the chat box. And I annoy my parents to death too!

  15. shikra says:

Friendly, I love too read to. Iread about 12 hours a week! right now i’m reading the Maximum Ride series. It’s awesome! So much adventure and flying. Oh did i mention that the book’s about kids with wings? Guess I didn’t. Well the series is awesome! You should read it. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

  16. steve-o says:

Oh Man Shikra, I thought I was alone in the wordy world. *sniff* *sniff* Hey do you read H.G. wells? you should. and Jules Verne too. That guy is AWESOME. But my 17 year old brother won’t lend his copy of Hamlet because he says it’s “too depresing” but what does he think Inkspell is all about? I never get a chance to read shakespear. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ™„ so unfair… Oh and Friendly I love villians too. super man and them are getting old. Friendly please tell me since you have a lot of the books WHERE DO THE PURE ONES IN SAINT AGGIES START SHATTERING FIRST I MUST KNOW MUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUSTMUST.
I must not read maximum ride because it will only make make my ache for wings stronger. when I was born I knew I wanted a great big pair of feathery angel wings

  17. Friendly penguin, i’ve read Eragon and Eldest, i like those kind of books, you know, the GOOD fantasy.Anyway is Guardians of ga’hoole anything like eragon?i also read the redwall series( i think, our library does not have a good selection though,) the latest book i read was called “The city of Ember”.

  18. dude says:

    hi ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™ i’ll go now.

  19. steve-o says:

You know I doubt its even worth posting if youre gonna say something pointless or just have having smilies as 95% of your less than a sentance

  20. this is the best comic yet ๐Ÿ˜Ž but it was a little silly that wally went crazy and all he did was knock out a bird wich is totally easy ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  21. Friendly Penguin says:

I read Redwall too! I just started at redwall though… you know, the book, not the series. And this is seriously sad… some kids in the same class as me are reading a series of books I read three years ago. They really just get to know about shattering in book five… that’s pretty much where all the shattering I know of takes place. Also, we bought a comic book that’s called The Lost Warrior…
I read Hamlet, and it’s really just not the most tragic story ever told… but it’s tragic.
I don’t really think Guardians of Ga’Hoole is much like Eragon. Oh, I should let you know the reason I got into Eragon and Eldest was because I liked dragons… isn’t that just a really sad reason to read a book? But I’m glad I did.
And another sad thing; I’m reading a book so that I can get clothing ideas for a character I’m writing about in my novel (that I’m writing) I did not know that so many human beings loved reading and writing.
Has anybody read Firewing or Sunwing?
Oh I am so un-lonely now that I know who knows how many people like to read the gigantic books…
I think that like all of us are reading at a grade 12 and higher reading level… at least i am. Too bad, all the books are depressing. But I like depressing (in not the most extreme). YAY THORN! GO SAPHIRA! SAVE SHRUIKAN! WOO HOO GLAEDR! YOU’RE THE BEST WHAT-YOUR-NAME-IS!
Is is just me, or do I have the incredible ability to write books on this thing? I talk too much. Way too much.

  22. Friendly Penguin says:

    OH THE HEAT! *passes out*

    Ten minutes later

I can’t believe how HOT it is out there. Like, I do not like this heat, I was just about (really) passing out when I was outside……………………………………………….

  23. Phizlo says:

I read Eragon, Eldest, the Warrirors Series and the New Propechy one, all the Redwall books, Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, Series of Unfortuante Events, Harry Potter, Captain Underpants, and Artemis Fowl. I tried to read the Ga’Hoole owl books, but I got bored and put it down before I got to the second chapter. ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. Phizlo says:

I also read funny comics like Peanuts(aka Snoopy), Garfield, and Calvin and Hobbes. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Of course, I also read Wally and Osborne. ๐Ÿ˜€ And Silent Kimbly and the Boids. ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh, and the Children of the Lamp books- It’s about these 12 year old djinn (genies) who help the world or something . . .

  25. steve-o says:

Hey friendly I do read grade 12 and higher yay now I can force my brother to let me read Hamlet. Haven’t read Redwall yet but it seems good. I should read one. P.S. I LOVE SERIES OF BOOKS ( like books that come in a series) Hey Phizlo I LOVE snoopy/garfield/calvin and hobbes.

  26. shikra says:

Steve-o, sometimes i read Jules Verne bbut most of the time i read maximum ride, Arteimis Fowl, The Mad scientist club, Bloodline ( it’s about vampires during WWI), and tale of despereaux. They all rock! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ I also read comics lie Zits, Fox Trot, Lio, and Pearls before Swine. Most importantly Wally and Osborne. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ Second most important is Rinning in the Halls.

  27. shikra says:

    Sorry Running in the Halls.

  28. steve-o says:

I have read… a LOT. Especcially Mark Twain. He is AWESOME. In fact, right after you read this comment go reread your copy of the adventures of Tom Sawyer.

Guess what? I AM GOING TO WASHINGTON D.C. THEN AUSTRIA, THEN UKRAINE. I will be going July 8. theres no internet in that type of place so it’s VERY doubtful you’ll hear from me unless I find a public computer in D.C.. While I’m gone hope for the best, I’ll try to send W&O a digital postcard, and keep your fingers crossed. BUT! until then, I’m still here. WOOHOO!!!!!!!   ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  45. io says:

steve-o, choose 20,000 Leauges Under The Sea. its great.

  46. Friendly Penguin says:

The Eragon movie is a rip off compared to the book. Except for Saphira’s animation *gasp in awe*. Like, it’s impossible for there to be a sequel movie because they changed or left out so many things that cause problems in the second book. It’s really not worth it, and if they did to a sequel movie, they’d need the scar and then they’d have to re-make the movie to do the scar part or change it even more and do an introduction where a mere soldier gives Eragon the scar…

  47. steve-o says:

    WHAT ABOUT MY TRIP *rumble rumble* SOMEONE BE EXCITED ABOUT MY TRIP ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH
