An Adelie Home
As opposed to the emperor penguin that keeps its eggs on its feet out in the middle of the ice in winter, the adelie penguins build a nest of rock during the summer in places where the snow has receded. They actually build a little circle of rocks around themselves to keep the egg from rolling away and help shield it from harsh weather. They return to the same nest each year.
Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
I know some of you had grown fond of the On the Rocks name, hopefully the new one will also find a place in your heart.
As far as the new look of the site, I like change every once in a while (it had been a year) and wanted something with more contrast from the comic, more colorful and feeling a bit more cozy. PurpleKoopa got it right in the comments the other day, the look is based on the steel of the ice-breaking ships of Antarctica that have appeared in the comic a few times.
But if you just got to have the old layout, don’t like change or want to live in last year, there is good news, you still can. To the left, at the bottom of the sidebar you will see an option for THEMES. You can switch back to the old theme there. Technology for teh win! I’ll be adding some more themes too, a minimalistic one and a small sized one for those with 800×600 displays or that are on dial-up connections.
As far as the readability, Lee mentioned that the black was a bit hard to read on the orange. Actually it was brown, so I changed it to black to create a bit more contrast. I will continue to develop the layout a bit and make sure everything is clear on everyone’s different display setups. Speaking of Lee, he’s already right on top of the Wikipedia article, thanks Lee. One of the nice things about the new name is stuff like the article and the domain name do not have to have extra words like “comics” thrown in to specify it. Since Wally & Osborne is more original.
Also, yes I need to update the banners and get the new comments emoticons back on. Will do!

Sweet! They are finally gonna get a home! Wally and Osborne finally can have a little sanctuary, and you will know where they are sometimes. Maybe some stories will develop out of this house. ROCK ON TYLER!

Well…Brown, black text is still dark (Sorry about my whining) the best way to do text is to find an oposite color from the background, or a lighter color, one that stands out such as black on white or white on black. A dark background needs a light color. My suggestion would be to continue the theme of the Wally and Osbourne colors through and use a white or a blue text color.
(But the black is easier than the brown)
Thanks! Now I can live back on the rocks in style. And even though Wally and Osbourne (and yes, I will ALWAYS call him that) will never win an archetectural award, they certainly should win one for comedy!

Mooseman, that ad is just a parody of an advertisement for a TV show on the WB, but you’ll notice it says WWW, and the time is just roughly the time the site is suppose to update. Maybe one day, though the world needs comics too. =D

The new site is very good, maybe you couls add some ice texture here and there to remark the idea of a big ship. But the new name hasn’t strengt. I know that’s YOUR webcomic, but in my opinion, the new name will not make greater the actual greatness of Wally and Osbourne. Only a comment.
Do as you think it’s better, and go ahead with the webcomic. It’s amazing.
The name is a bit boring but this isn’t really my comic so I can’t do much about it. I also make my own comics. I have only 12 done so far and I’ve been a bit lazy…

Just “chillax” guys, it takes time to make a comic. Its art not just something you can make in a second, and Tyler does have a life to tend to, give him a break like you’d want him to do if you had priorities.
I agree with CanadianMooseman. Us readers should go on strike and refuse to read. Then again, maybe he just has writer’s block… ow. I’m typing too hard on the notebook again.

I’ve been reading the archives with the current theme(which can be a little confusing when people have mentioned things about the old interface). With how it’s been “On The Rocks” until now, maybe I should have changed the theme to that style for those comics, then read the comics from hear on in the new theme. Better for historical accuracy.
Since it’s too late to use the time-appropriate theme, I think I’ll switch to the On The Rocks theme for the rest of the comics in the archive. I have another year to catch up on!
